What is your process?
We are experienced and thorough, but always work with you to understand what you need and want from your project. Some customers are looking for a perfect paint finish and others just want a quick change of colour or a rental property repainting in white. Here is how the process works...
Client needs
- We speak with you to understand the finish, design, budget and time frame for your project
- We assess the quantity of paint and paper needed
- We purchase and collect the paint and paper where agreed – using our Trade Discounts for you

Preparation
- We protect furniture, fixture, fittings and carpets from paint.
- We loosen light fittings, sockets and switches to allow access to paint for the perfect finish
- We remove radiators where required and agreed
- Clean surfaces from debris, dust and grime
- Remove wallpaper where needed
- Sand surfaces, like any woodwork and walls
- Fill and prepare the surfaces. This is key to a quality finish
- Clean down the areas again. This stops any sanding dust or bits getting in the paint or on the rollers and brushes
- Seal the plaster – if it is bare plaster we seal the plaster with a PVA and water solution

Paint
- Whether it is woodwork, plaster or a wall that has already been painted, after preparing the surfaces, we complete a minimum of 2 coats of paint.
- Woodwork – requires primer if it is unpainted, then gloss for a hard wearing shiny finish that will last for years.
- If there are any stains, oil patches or signs of water damage, we stain block them – some marks and stains come through paint if they are not treated with an appropriate stain blocker
- Cutting in – where one type of paint or colour of paint meets another, or where paint meets a windows, ceilings or an edge, we use a paint brush to get the exact line. This is called cutting in.
- Panting the walls requires at least two coats of quality paint, but sometimes 3.
- Depending on the finish and look you are going for, sanding is required between each coat too.
Wallpaper
- If you are going for wallpaper then after the walls are prepared we start the papering process. We take time to cut a perfect line, match patterns and get a clean and tidy finish.
